In 1981, the Currier family planted the beginnings of Echo Hill Christmas Tree Farm in Loranger, Louisiana, hand-planting 18,000 Virginia Pine seedlings with a dibbler. Over the years, that labor of love expanded to more than 50,000 trees across 50 acres.
Life on the farm was a rhythm of shared purpose. Weekends meant two-hour drives to Loranger to prune, fertilize, and shape the trees. The men and boys ran tractors, while the women and girls led caroling wagon rides and taught live-wreath making. Inside the old dairy barn, hot cider and cocoa warmed guests browsing handcrafted ornaments, while handmade reindeer corrals and manger scenes brought the season to life outside.
